Deep tissue and sports massage

Deep tissue and sports massage are therapeutic techniques that focus on reaching the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue in the body and look to address the root of any discomfort.

I use firm pressure and slow strokes to target specific areas of tension and stiffness. My aim is to alleviate chronic patterns of tension and to break down adhesions (knots) in muscle and fascia.

The benefits of deep tissue and sports massage are manifold. They can provide

Myofascial release therapy

Myofascial release therapy is a specialised hands-on technique, without oil, that targets the fascia, a connective tissue that surrounds muscles, bones, and organs throughout the body.

By applying sustained pressure and gentle stretching to the fascia, myofascial release aims to release tension, improve range of motion, and alleviate pain.

This therapy can be particularly effective in treating chronic pain conditions, such as fibromyalgia and back pain, by addressing restrictions in the fascia that may contribute to discomfort.

Beyond pain relief, myofascial release therapy promotes a very deep relaxation, increases blood flow and lymphatic drainage, and supports overall tissue pliability and hydration.

The Fascial Facial

At Cielo Wellbeing I’m introducing an innovative approach to skincare: Fascial Facials, a holistic solution for rejuvenating the face and revealing your deep radiance.

At the core of the Fascial Facial is myofascial massage, a technique that targets the fascial connective tissues beneath the skin’s surface. By releasing tension and promoting circulation in these tissues, myofascial massage improves facial tone and structure.

After a discussion with Amber about your skin’s needs, this Artistry facial treatment begins with a gentle cleanse and exfoliation. Then we begin a relaxing and hydrating décolletage, neck, shoulder and facial massage with myofascial work while your skin soaks in all the benefits of an intense hydration or deep cleanse mask. Finish with a scalp massage for the ultimate fascial unwinding experience and feel a deep let go.

Yoga

My journey with yoga began at the age of 11, when I was introduced by my mother to my first class. Over the past four decades since, I have explored various yoga styles including Iyengar, Ashtanga, Bikram, Vinyasa Flow, and Yin. In 2022, I completed my IYTA training, which solidified my foundation as a yoga teacher.

Today, I continue my personal practice under the guidance of Bryan Rogers and am nearing the completion of my Svastha Yoga Therapy diploma with the Mohans. This advanced training has deepened my understanding of yoga as a therapeutic tool, focusing on therapeutic, practical, and functional approaches that support the parasympathetic nervous system.

My teaching philosophy centres around addressing your individual needs rather than a fixed set of asanas (poses).I aim to understand your motivations for practicing yoga and to tailor my support accordingly. Through attentive listening, inquiry, observation, and with your consent, touch, I collaborate with you to alleviate symptoms and enhance overall function, health, and well-being.

Bookings

Clients may customise their treatments by adding extensions of 30, 60, or 90 minutes to their existing bookings. For instance, when booking, you can extend a 60-minute massage by an additional 30 minutes to learn stretching techniques tailored to your needs. Alternatively, enhance your 60-minute facial appointment with a 30-minute back massage. By integrating various treatments into your session, you can enhance, deepen, and prolong the benefits of your experience.
